THE first hint of summer 2012 greeted the annual Cloghoula Pattern Day in the presence of an appreciative attendance last Sunday week.

Indeed the grounds of the local national school were a hive of activity much to the delight of organizers to allow the outdoor programme of events go ahead.

Millstreet Pipe Band played into the venue and from then on it was fun and games until late in the day.

Situated on the main Macroom to Millstreet route, the staging drew natives and friends to a picturesque rural setting.

A mixed bag of events catered for all tastes with children sports a huge interest as were side show attractions from signed Cork football and hurling jerseys, trailer of kindling, hand painted slates, wines and spirits to potted plants and name the doll.
