Music, song and dance will take centre stage in Cullen on Sunday, June 9th when the annual Feis Laitiarain will be held at the GAA Grounds.

"Great credit is due to the locals who help every year, on the lead up to the Feis and on the day itself. Without local support and help it would not be possible to hold the event every year," organiser Noreen Meade told The Corkman.

"Feis Laitiarain is in existence since 1898 and we strive to ensure that it will continue into the future, as a tribute to all those who worked tirelessly to keep it alive in the past."

Competitions in music, singing and poetry, both in Irish and English, will commence at 12 noon. Sports for all ages, including parents and toddlers, will kick off at 3pm. The world renowned Cullen Pipe Band will perform in the field.

"We are privileged to have such talented musicians in our locality. We will have singers, dancers and musicians from around the area performing.

"The best overall competitor in each category will perform also and will be presented with a perpetual cup during the entertainment session," Noreen explained.
