Stage is set for 11th arts festival

The official opening of the 11th Kanturk Arts Festival kicks off tomorrow night, March 15th, at O'Callaghan's Showroom on Earl Street.

There will be the presentation of prizes to the Flash Fiction Competition winners by writer Nuala O'Connor, Various Voices a capella group, and songs and stories.

Earlier in the day, and back by popular demand is the felt decoration making workshop hosted by Gerli Kerm which proved a big hit last year. New this year is the Crochet workshop facilitated by Joan Lester which takes place in the Trades Union Hall from 2-5pm also on Friday 15th.

On Saturday there is a fiction writing workshop with award winning writer Nuala O'Connor and an oil painting workshop with Jessica Baron from 2-5pm in the Trades Union Hall.

The hugely popular Night of Drama brings Saturday to a close.

On Sunday, there is the Poetry Slam which always draws a crowd.
