Charleville man Albert Twomey, is one of the backers of a brand new record label, Outonalimb Records, which was launched at the Globe nightclub in Limerick last week.

The packed launch party also saw the release of the first CD entitled ‘Is It Ok To Be Loud, Jesus’ from the two man band called Giveamanakick, the label’s first signing.

Giveamanakick, consists of Stephen Ryan, who plays guitar and drummer, Keith Lawlor who have been steadily building a fan base, playing rock music in Limerick City area and beyond over the past year and in answer to the growing demand from their fans, the duo decided to record their debut album earlier this year.

The album, which was recorded by Limerick man Mark O’Connor, consists of ten tracks of solid rock ‘n’ roll music guaranteed to please their growing numbers of fans.

The duo then signed up with the local fledgling record label to make the venture an all Limerick one and if the reception they got at the launch is any yardstick, Stephen and Keith have a bright future ahead of them on the music scene and it won’t be long until they are a household name.

Bert Twomey, who hails from the Smith’s Road area of Charleville, has been instrumental in the promotion of independent musical acts in Limerick City in recent years but this is his first foray into the record business along with business associate Richard Bourke.

“We recognised that Keith and Stephen are very special talents and possess the necessary drive to be a success in the music business and we had no hesitation in signing them up for the first release on our new, Outonalimb label,” he said.

Giveamanakick’s live show has been lauded in Hot Press magazine, which said; “They are as good as anything we’ve seen up and down the country,” and the Limerick City pair also got a good review from music critic Leagues O’Toole of RTE Network 2’s ‘No Disco’.

They kick off a nationwide tour, which will see them fulfil engagements in Paddy’s, Ballymahon, Co. Longford, the Music Rooms Dublin, Pacinos in Galway, the Globe in Limerick on July 12, Fred Zepplins in Cork City on July 15 and the Ballroom of Romance in Dublin on July 18.

For a completely new experience you are urged to catch this new and vibrant young band at any one of these venues and you can surf their website, www giveamanakick.com for more details on the band and their music.
