Irish Rascals a hit for Patricia

COLLEGE lecturer Patricia O'Sullivan is hitting international success with her first publication, 'Irish Rascals - Our Gang'.

This is a children's book, resurrecting the childhood adventures of seven children.

Centring on a group of neighbours and their adventures, Irish Rascals not only brings back wonderful memories, conversely it will encourage current children to use their own imaginations in play and have fun adventures in their childhood.

Patricia rooted 'Our Gang' in real life adventures at Duarrigle Castle and down the Blackwater River in a home-made water raft.

The premise of these short stories shows "a group of kids who were having fun".

Timmy was by far the biggest rascal, always playing tricks on the girls, on one particular adventure burning poor old Maggie's bum with nettles! Some of the shorts, particularly "Picnic by the River" contain extended scenes of Timmy tormenting the girls.

Available online worldwide, 'Irish Rascals - Our Gang' is meeting with a favourable reaction and can be obtained at outlets in Millstreet's Wordsworth, Kanturk, Boherbue and Rathmore.
