High rollers and glamour set for super casino night
MALLOW will be transformed into 'Vegas on the Blackwater' next month as the bright lights, glamour and pzazz of the world's gambling Mecca come to North Cork for one night of adrenaline fuelled, high-rolling action.
The Hibernian Hotel will host the return of Mallow Chamber's Casino Night on Friday, March 7, with high-rollers and low gamblers set to descend on the venue to try their hand at beating the house.
Blackjack and roulette will be the games of choice, with each guest being given €1,000 worth of 'funny' gambling money on arrival.
Eight tables manned by professional croupiers will be set up in the room, with the ten players that win the most money going forward to the final table to battle it out for the top prizes.
Chamber president Kevin O'Keeffe said the night will offer people a chance to leave their worries on the doorstep and revel in the Vegas style atmosphere.
"It will give people the chance to dress up and have a relatively inexpensive night out on the town. It will also offer people a welcome opportunity to stop worrying about the reality of doing business in the current climate and feel like Vegas high-rollers - albeit for one night only," said Mr O'Keeffe.
"The event was a roaring success two years ago and we are looking forward to another fun evening. The night is open to members and non-members, so we hope to see a few new faces on the night," he added.
Darren Owens of the Hibernian Hotel said that local businesses have been quick to lend their support to the event through the sponsorship of tables.
"This will allow all of the money raised through tickets sales and on the night will go towards maintaining the positive marketing of Mallow that the Chamber works so hard on throughout the year," said Mr Owens.
Tickets for the Casino Night, priced at €20 per-head, are available now from the chamber office on 022 55660.
