From Boherbue to Belfast and back

Renowned Duhallow accordion player Liam O'Connor is set to raise the roof of his old school as he joins up with internationally acclaimed singer songwriter Brian Kennedy for a concert next month.

The night of music is scheduled for 2 October at Boherbue Comprehensive School, an academy with a rich tradition of nurturing talent and promoting the rich tradition of the area.

Students are abuzz with excitement as they look forward to working with Liam O'Connor over the next few weeks as they prepare for the concert.

The school choir are looking forward to performing alongside Belfast singer songwriter Brian Kennedy. The singer, who recently overcame a cancer diagnosis, hails from the Falls Road but has travelled all over the world with his music.

Music Teacher, Ms. Ann Marie O' Keeffe, stated that it's a "great occasion for the school and a fabulous opportunity for our music students to engage creatively and experience real life performance."

Principal, Ms. Vera Leader commented that "students are looking forward to entertaining their Duhallow audience on the night of October 2nd.

Liam was centre stage - or centre field rather - on Sunday during the half time interval in Kerry's epic clash with five in a row chasing Dublin in Croke Park.
