Finbar at the Everyman
One of Ireland's greatest musicians and raconteurs, the inimitable Finbar Furey will bring his unique brand of magic to Cork's Everyman Palace Theatre on Sunday evening.
The multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and storyteller Finbar toured the globe with the Furey's and Davy Arthur, selling out venues and introducing audiences to their infectious brand of traditional Irish music.
His long career has also included numerous film and television appearances, including a singing role in the 2002 Martin Scorsese's 'Gangs of New York' as well writing and playing the musical score for the ward-winning 2016 movie 'The Wild Goose Lodge'.
After more than three-decades with the band, Finbar embarked on a hugely successful solo career as a singer, writer and producer.
His Cork concert, part of a nine-date Irish tour comes off the back of the back of his latest album 'Paddy Dear',which topped the Irish charts in 2017. The album and was re-released in March under the new name of 'Don't Stop This Now, with the package featuring new songs and a bonus DVD of Finbar performing live at Dublin's Vicar Street.
At the tender age of 71 Finbar has lost none of the sparkle that has made him a true Irish folk legend. The Cork audience can expect a magical night packed with great music, humour and the charm and sparkling wit of one of the country's greatest ever storytellers. He will be supported on the night by Peter Eades (piano, guitar, strings and backing vocals) and Paul O'Driscoll (double bass, backing vocals.)
