Castletownroche set to host its own Tedfest go on, go on, go on
CASTLETOWNROCHE will boast an attraction bigger than The Holy Stone of Clonrichert as the village hosts its second annual Tedfest this Saturday. The event, in its second year, is a celebration of all things Fr Ted and organisers of the night have drawn inspiration from the classic '90s comedy.
"There are three of us on the committee, and we held something small last year. We based it around one of the committee, Ronald, doing a DJ set. About twenty five showed up in fancy dress. We'll be doing that again with Ronald dressed as the Spinmaster priest," John Condron of the organising committee revealed.
As well as having music on the night, the organisers have added another attraction drawn from a classic Ted episode. The obstacles are ready for Castletownroche's first ever Lovely Girls competition, and ladies will need to showcase their cone-navigating skills amongst other talents to land the coveted prize.
John says the group are taking "baby steps" in developing the event but are already looking at ways they can make Tedfest 2014 bigger and better.
Entry to Tedfest at Pat Mac's Bar is free, but those attending are asked to get into the spirit of things and arrive in fancy dress.
So are you heading to Tedfest? Ah go on. Go on, go on, go on, go on ... .
