Banteer group organise 'Naddstock'

BANTEER Macra have organised a 4 day mini music festival from July 12-15 in Nadd - called 'Naddstock' - featuring: Thursday: DJ Killer Teenage Disco. Doors open at 8.30

Friday: Black Rose, Bradley Sisters and Revenge. Doors open at 7.30.

Saturday: The Bradleyz, Érin go Brágh, Candy and the Cubes. Doors open at 5.30.

Sunday: Mike, Helen, and Southern Pride. Doors open at 2.30.

The Freemount Macra Golden Jubilee Celebrations will be a five-day event running from the Wednesday, July 18, to Sunday, July 22.

The third night of Freemount Macra's Golden Jubilee Celebration is set to be the biggest of the festival. What better way to celebrate the success of the club than by doing it in style with a Midsummer Ball in the Charleville Park Hotel. The night kicks off with a champagne reception at 7pm the meal will be served at 8pm sharp. Rebooking of tickets is essential Contact Louise on (087) 672948 to avoid disappointment .

The celebrations will finish with Freemount Macra organising a traditional Field Evening at 2.30pm on Sunday, July 22.

This will include events like farm skills stock judging and much more the event will end with a BBQ in the Haggart Bar Freemount everyone welcomed. More information available on the Freemount facebook page.


Fermoy Macra has organised a Tug-o'War charity fund-raiser. There will be BBQ and a DJ after, it takes place at the Clondulane Pub on June 22 at 7.30pm.

Mitchelstown Macra members attended the Avondhu Regional Awards night on Friday.

Mitchelstown received awards for Under 23 sheep stock judging where Timmy Lane was victorious last Autumn, also for Impromptu Debating where our team of Aisling Lewis, Michael Rea and Gerard Griffin triumphed over Ballyhoura Macra and our Know Your Ag team of Edmond Moakley, Louise O'Brien, Timmy Lane and Stuart Childs reached the Regional Finals last October.


The Regional AGM took place on Monday night last, June 11, in the Freemount Heritage Centre. There was a large crowd there on the night where all clubs were represented.

The outgoing committee of 2011-2012 gave their accounts of the year gone by and thanked the committee and members for their dedication along with wishing the incoming committee all the best for the year ahead.

Congratulations to everyone who got positions on the night and we wish them all the best.
