The author of a saga of international intrigue - set in Ireland following the Battle of Kinsale - is among the speakers at next week's Imbolc festival in Baile Mhúirne.
Liam Mac Cóil has recently published the third novel in a trilogy which has taken a decade to complete. Bealach na Spáinneach is about the adventures of a Galway youth who is entrusted with a secret letter to deliver to Rome, where the Earls of Ireland are in exile.
He will be speaking at the annual Imbolc festival in the Ionad Cultúrtha in Baile Mhúirne as part of an impressive line up of speakers for the Irish-language event.
A wide range of topics will be discussed by the various speakers during the day's proceedings, with talks on subjects as diverse as bee-keeping, traditional music and life as an arts administrator all featuring.
The festival kicks off on the night of Valentine's Day as Kerry accordion legend Séamus Ó Beaglaoich and his daughter, Méabh, feature in a night of music and stories.
The talks get underway the following day at 10am at the Ionad. Further information can be accessed via the website, www.imbolc.ie.
