Annmarie is bound for Canada

Popular traditional singer Annmarie O'Riordan is poised to embark on a Canadian tour with a series of gigs that's sure to win a new fan base.

The trip across the Atlantic will showcase Annmarie's unique voice that has made her one of the most successful and most requested singers in the South West Region.

An unique artist with tremendous talent and understanding of Irish heritage and tradition, Mid and North Cork supporters can enjoy Annmarie at a concert in the Briery Gap, Macroom on this Saturday night commencing at 8.30pm.

The gig coincides with the Macroom Food Festival and joining Annmarie on stage are talented musician Ger Naughton, Michael O'Connor and Gradam Ceoil musician of the Year winner Bryan O'Leary. Special guest is Seán Ó Liatháin of Cór Chúil Aodha.

The latest single from Annmarie is "The Colleen Bawn", hugely successful and will be featured on her new upcoming album.

Exciting times lay ahead for Annmarie including her first solo tour of Canada which takes place in November.

"I am really excited about visiting Newfoundland as there is such a deep appreciation for Irish music and heritage in the region", she said.

Annmarie's last album "The Joys of my Heart" introduced her to a new dimension with the excellent title track composed by the splendidly creative Annmarie herself. Her repertoire is sure to delight fans on Saturday night, classics will range from "Cooraclare", "The Land of the Gale", "The Boys of Barr na Sráide", "This story I tell you is true" to "Eileen McMahon" and much more.
