No luck in Ballinrobe

THREE members of Arklow Racquetball Club travelled west last weekend to take part in the Ballinrobe open Championships and while they reached two finals they had to settle for the runner - up spot.

In the open singles Adam Neary came up against the super fit Pa Hanley from Fermoy and after two hard fought games he had to give way by a score of 15 - 13 15 - 12 .

Adam also reached the semi - final of the open doubles with partner Mark Murphy from Kilkenny where they lost to Connor Skeehan and Johnny O Keeney from Formoy.

In the over 40 + singles Jimmy Gannon reached the final and after a tough match he was defeated by Stephen O Loan from Belfast.

Jimmy and Pa O'donnell also got to the semi-finals of the open doubles they lost to Noel O'callaghan and Ray Breen.

Pa O'donnell also competed in the B/C singles he got to the quarter-final.
