WICKOW ROVERS AFC
The first team ended their recent bad run in the league on Sunday when they defeated one of the pre-season favourites Kilnamanagh FC by two goals to one, Kilnamanagh were in second place in the table prior to the game so for the lads to travel and beat them on their own patch shows just how tough a league this is, on the day Luke Byrne and a first goal of the season for Sean Duffy scored the all important goals to claim all three points.
The second team took on Dunboyne FC in what was second versus third and at the end of ninety minutes there was nothing separating the two teams as the spoils were shared after a 2-2 draw, Mark Delaney and Warren Gormley scored the goals.
On the junior front on Saturday the 9B's had a great 3-2 away win over St Patricks. Sean O'Meara notched a brace and Tom Wilkinson nabbed one.
The 13A's completed their shield fixtures and maintained their hundred percent record with a hard earned 2-1 home victory over Avonmore, Adam Byrne hit his tenth goal of the season while Ronan Murray scored his first to give them all three points and the final to look forward to. The 14A's had a good 31 away win against Coolboy Rangers, this win means they top their shield table. The 15A's edged closer to the final of the Premier Shield with a point at home to their closest rivals Arklow Utd,. Our 16A's suffered a hangover from last weeks great National Cup win when they were defeated by Arklow Town A by a score of 4-1. The 16's face a long journey in the last 32 of the National Cup when they were drawn away to the winners of Ballisadare Utd [Sligo] or Tuam Celtic [Galway] when the draw was made on Saturday evening.
On Sunday the 8A's went down 3-2 away to Arklow Town, Aaron Murray scored for the third successive game to take his total to six for the season with Peter Dunne scoring the second.
The 8B's lost 3-1 away to St Patricks with Tom Donoghue scoring their goal. The 9A's made it seven wins on the bounce with a 3-2 home success over Arklow United, a brace from Conor Hunter and a single from Tiernan O'Brien accounted for their goals. The 10C's went down 3-0 away to a strong Enniskerry team but with a bit of luck they might have got something from this game.
Our 12A's moved a step closer to the premier shield final with a comprehensive 5-1 away win over Aughrim Rangers. The 14B's lost out by the odd goal in seven away to Arklow United.
The 15B's recorded their first win of the season when they had an excellent 4-1 home win over Arklow Town A.
The under 9C, 12B and 13B games were called off.
In the girls section the under 12 game away to Shankill was called off, the under 14's recorded an impressive 3-1 home win over Peamount United. The 16's also had a good win, they defeated Broadford Rovers 2-0 at the Whitegates.
All managers are requested to make sure all Christmas raffle tickets are returned to any committee member this week, if you ring any committee member we can arrange to meet to pick up the tickets, thank you.

ARKLOW TOWN FC
Friday night football saw the LSL team face a tough battle against St Patrick's CY FC and in fairness the boys were unlucky not to win with the visitors earning a 3-3 draw with the final kick of the game. Goals from Shane Murray, Peter Finnegan and Jonathan Kelty for The Town.
On Saturday morning the U-9A team welcomed Ashford Rovers to Lamberton and came away with a 2-0 victory following a brilliant goalkeeping performance from Niall Dempsey and with Daniel Byrne and Conn Kinsella on the scoresheet.
The U-12A team travelled to Greystones United but despite goals from Liam Moore and Thomas Lynch they only managed a share of the spoils. Another 2-2 draw at Ferndale Park in the local derby between Arklow United and the U -13B team. The U-16A team had a better result at Whitegates with a 4-1 victory over Wicklow Rovers.
The big game of the weekend saw our U-17 team travel to Kildare in the FAI U17 Challenge Cup to face last year's finalists Newbridge Town. It was a game that could have gone either way with great performances from both teams but unfortunately we were narrowly beaten 3-2.
Back at Lamberton, the Premier team, who appear to be on a tremendous winning streak, took on Seaview Wanderers in the Wicklow Cup and had an easy victory.
Lamberton was a hive of activity on Sunday morning and it was Aaron O'Brien and Paidi Kavanagh who earned the points for the U-8 boys over a very good Wicklow Rovers side.
The U-9B team played at the same time but were narrowly beaten by Ashford Rovers despite goals from Daniel Byrne and Robbie Long. Ardmore Rovers were next in line against the U10A team and it was Owen Moore and Cian Reilly who secured a 2-0 victory in this tight contest.
The U-15A team had a weekend to forget when they lost our 4-1 to Wicklow Rovers at Whitegates however in the final game of the weekend the U-14A team brightened the spirits with a tremendous 4-0 victory over Wolfe Tone YC in Bray.
This was probably the best all-round team performance this bunch of talented young footballers have played to date with every player on the squad playing outstanding football and Andrew Maher, Kian Bolger, Conor Breslin and Shane Keenan all on target. A fantastic ending to a good weekend on the pitch for The Town.
WICKOW TOWN AFC
Our weekend began on Saturday morning with the u14's at home to a strong Arklow Utd team, despite a great game the visitors took the win.
The u17's were next up with another home fixture against Rathgar A, they bagged themselves another 3pts with a great 3-1 win. Sunday started with the u10's travelling to Greystones which they won 3-0 from another great hattrick from Jack O'Rielly. The weekend's fixtures finished with the 1st Team at home against Newtown B in the Wicklow Cup, which they won 4-1 with the goals coming from Eddie Kelly, Cathal Doyle, Eric Dunne and Niall Manning. Well done Finn and the lads roll on the next round.

NEWTOWN JUNIORS FC
Strange weekend last week which included three of our team's having no game, two of them receiving walkovers in cup competitions.
The under 8's waited and they waited but no opposition turned up (Aughrim) and therefore the team had to pack up and go home which was a shame as conditions were perfect for a game of football. Aughrim did turn up for the under 9's game and maybe we wished they hadn't as the visitors ran out 5-0 winners. The under 11's travelled to Bray to take on Wolfe Tone but they never reached the heights of recent displays and they lost 6-0. The under 12's game at home to Ardmore Rovers was postponed due to an unplayable pitch. Due to this fact the under 14's reversed their game to Greystones and they ran out comfortable winners with both Jack Doyle & Adam Heffernan scoring hat tricks. Aaron Toner, Sean Gregory, Aaron Eager and Lee Turner also scored goals on the day.
Our Girls under 16's qualified for the semi finals of the MGL Cup after a walkover from Enniskerry who could not field a team. Likewise the girls Under 18's made a safe passage to the semi finals of the Leinster cup after receiving a walkover from Lucan United. The 16's will now play the winners of Peamount/St. Josephs at home and it will also be a home semi final for the 18's and their opposition will be Cloughbawn from Wexford. Both matches will be played in the New Year.
Two players from the club celebrate their birthdays in the coming week and they are Andrew McMahon from the under 11's and Trevor Sebanokita from the under 14's. Happy birthday guys from everyone at Newtown Juniors F.C.
We will be holding our Christmas Draw on the 22nd of December in the Mountkennedy Inn. Tickets will be distributed shortly and are €5 for a book of three, so please support. NEWTOWN UNITED FC
The first team's Wicklow cup game away to Ashford Rovers fell victim to the weather but the second team's cup tie away to Wicklow Town did go ahead but there was no joy for the second string as they went down on a 4-1 scoreline. Conor Eccelston scored the Newtown goal in a game where the team did deserve a little more for their performance on the day.
There was no winner in our Members draw last weekend and the pot goes to €200 next week. Thank you for your continued support. In our draw for a signed Steven Gerard Liverpool jersey the winner was Jason Collins (after that fantastic goal on Sunday maybe it should be a West Ham shirt!) Well done Jay!
This Sunday saw the youth members head to the track at Sundrive Rd, Dublin for track training. Despite the cold there was a good turnout and this was a good afternoon where those who had never ridden a track bike before learnt the basic skills required to ride a bike with a fixed gear and no brakes while those had more experienced on the track did some training.
Ed O'Brien of the club took part in the South East Road Clubs (SERC) Christmas hamper race in Arklow on Sunday. This is a charity event run by the South Wicklow Club every Christmas. Ed worked throughout the race with Joe Christian (currently of SERC who intends to ride with Bray next year), bringing back any breaks and neutralizing/blocking any attacks. Joe Christian won the race - thanks to a lead out by Ed proving he will be a great addition to the Bray race team next year. Ed O'Brien got a well deserved 5th in the bunch sprint.
Next Sunday the 16th is the Bray Wheelers Fancy Dress Christmas Race. Sign on is at the clubhouse on Schools Rd at 9 am with the racing starting at 10am. This race takes the format of a two person team time trial. Teams have to estimate how long it will take them to complete the course and the team who finishes closest to their estimated time is the winner. No bike computers or watches are allowed. There will be cycling activies for the younger members in the field beside the clubhouse while the race is taking place and there will be refreshments and a prize giving afterwards. Dig out the fancy dress, the santa and the elves outfits and come along for a fun morning. Members family and friends are all welcome.
