Pretty and Pampered of Wicklow town has been crowned the Makeup Salon of the year at the fourth Irish Hair and Beauty awards.

The event took place at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin Airport and was hosted by the best-selling author and radio presenter, Andrea Hayes.

The awards are powered by Creative Oceanic but voted for by the public who nominated their favourite salons and go-to professionals.

Sarahmarie Howes was delighted to receive the honours.

She said: 'I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted me into the Irish Hair and Beauty awards I was totally shocked to even be shortlisted , never mind win, and I feel very blessed to be recognised amongst such talented artists.

'I've poured my heart and soul into growing my little company, and alongside raising my three year old son, it's been tough but moments like this make it all worth it.

'Id also like to thank my parents Thomas and Gael Howes for teaching me the stars are never too far to reach if you are willing to put the work in to get there.'

Pretty and Pampered was founded in 2015, offering a mobile beauty service of a high standard using top name brands and offering a professional and friendly atmosphere in the comfort of the clients own home.

The Irish Hair and Beauty Awards 2019 are an exclusive celebration of the hair and beauty gurus that operate in the country.

The overwhelming response from the public saw tens of thousands of nominations received from all corners of Ireland, before the full list of finalists was decided upon.
