Tristan calling time on Strictly
Bray native Tristan MacManus will not be returning to Strictly Come Dancing this year.
The professional dancer told fan site MacManiacs.org that the show is not for him.
'No, I won't be going back,' he said. 'I think over the time I have been there I have realised more and more that it is not for me. I think the show needs someone a lot different to me on the show to get what they want, and I need something a lot different to make me happy and get what I want out of it. I think there will be a lot of changes on the show, and I have enjoyed it for the most part but right now I just need a break from it all,' said MacManus.
The 33-year-old star recently popped into the cast of 'Strictly Bray Emmets' during a trip to Ireland as they began their rehearsals for the charity event. He gave them plenty of encouragement and was an inspiration to the dancers as they embarked on their adventure. Other dancers to leave the programme include Aliona Vilani, Ola Jordan and Kristina Rihanoff. Prior to Strictly, MacManus was on 'Dancing with The Stars' in America with his partners including Gladys Knight and Pamela Anderson.
'You can be a dancer or you can be a dancer on a TV show and with that comes a whole other bad,' said Tristan. 'It can be fun, but I'd sooner leave it as it is than spend all my time complaining about it.'
