Thomas Gaskin from Bray is now €47,000 better off after his appearance on the Winning Streak game show on RTE last weekend.

Thomas, from Church Road, has been married to Dolores for the past 43 years and they have three sons – Wayne, Colin and Barry, as well as eight grandchildren.

He was watching the golf the previous weekend when Dolores suggested they put on Winning Streak to see if his name would be selected in the draw.

Thomas said they would be sure to get a call if he was one of the lucky ones, and with that a colleague rang with the good news.

The local man said that he was waiting 25 years for this to happen.

Thomas works in the printing business. He also plays golf and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren.

He has no lucky charms but feels he has been lucky all the way along in his life – he was lucky to be raised on a farm and have a great childhood, lucky with his health, family and his grandchildren.

In 1965 he was lucky to have gotten an apprenticeship following the printer's strike.

His sons are also lucky – Wayne and his wife Aisling won a free wedding on a Valentine's Late Late show with Pat Kenny, Colin has won a car and Barry won a round the world trip!

Thomas would love to go on a trip to Disneyland in Florida with his whole family – that is something he always wished to do.
