That's my girl!

Stephanie Roche's mother Anne is brimming with pride as the footballer took second in the world for Fifa's prestigious Puskas goal of the year award, with over 1.1 million votes.

The Shankill lady will be welcomed home at the weekend after an astonishing experience at the Fifa awards in Zurich.

'Shankill will never be the same,' said Stephanie's proud mother Anne. 'I am so proud of her. She's put women's football on the map.'

Hundreds of people converged on Brady's to watch the event and celebrate no matter what the outcome. James Rodriguez won the honour with Stephanie in second place with 33 per cent of the public vote for her strike against Wexford Youths.

Anne said that she expects a homecoming will be held at Brady's at the weekend although she has not confirmed exactly when that will be.
