Shortlisted for business award
Fashion designer and Greystones native Bebhinn Flood has been shortlisted for a prestigious IMAGE Businesswomen of the Year Award.
Bebhinn founded The Design House on Dawson Street in Dublin two years ago and has been shortlisted in the Creative Industry category. The awards will take place on November 2 in the Doubletree Hilton, Dublin.
'I am thrilled and honoured to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award along with brilliant creative business women such as Sonja Lennon, Lucy Nagle and Danielle Ryan.
'It is great to get recognition for the hard work that has gone into creating and building The Design House. I am very proud of the team there and thoroughly enjoy working with them to create this unique design and retail hub in Dublin city centre,' said Bebhinn.
Bebhinn founded The Design House as she saw a gap in the market for a space where designers could both create and sell their pieces.
Housed over five floors in a beautiful Georgian building, The Design House today sells products from over 60 Irish designers in the areas of fashion, bridal, jewellery, knitwear, vintage, art and craft and features an Italian café.
She specialises in occasion wear and managed The Loft in Powerscourt for eight years.
While working in The Loft Bebhinn encountered many designers and realised that what they really needed was a city centre space where they could meet clients, create pieces and sell their finished work.
The Design House is unique as it features shared studio space, a sewing room with in-house seamstress, bespoke service and retail space. It also offers classes in fashion, millinery and jewellery making.
