A developer is seeking permission to build 182 apartments on the site of the former Presentation College 'Bray Head House' on Putland Road.

The project is still at the pre-application consultation phase.

The building was most recently used by North Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School. They have now moved to further temporary accommodation at the former Ravenswell school on Dublin Road.

Denver Valley Developments Limited is making the application to an Bord Pleanála for a strategic housing development.

The plans include demolition of a secondary school extension and other minor structures on the site, and construction of a crèche.

The case is due to be decided by January 8.

Presentation College was established there in 1921 after being sold to the order by David Frame.

The school was blessed and opened by the Archbishop of Dublin Dr. Byrne on September 5, 1921.

The building has since been occupied by Pres and Bray Adult Education Centre before NWETSS.

Pre-application consultation is mandatory for prospective applicants prior to making an application for strategic housing development.

Prospective applicants consult first with the relevant planning authority and then with An Bord Pleanála who will form and issue an opinion as to whether documents submitted constitute a reasonable basis for an application or whether further consideration or amendment to the documents are required.
