Nationwide's Kennedy drops in for a cuppa at Arklow's Victorian Tea Times
Wicklow business Victorian Tea Times is set to be featured on Nationwide, the popular RTE One magazine show.
Presenter Mary Kennedy and the show's crew visited the Arklow tea rooms on Friday last where they enjoyed afternoon tea before talking to owner Audrey Whelan about the inspiration behind the business.
Speaking to the Wicklow People before filming, Audrey Whelan said: 'I'm so excited. I can't believe it. It's a great opportunity for the business and the town.'
Victorian Tea Times allows guests to enjoy afternoon teas served by parlour maids in costume and all presided over by a Victorian matriarch.
Visitors can also have fun in the Victorian dressing room as they step back in time by donning beautiful dresses and finery as worn by ladies in that era.
It hasn't been confirmed when the feature on Victorian Tea Times will be shown on the popular RTE evening magazine show. Meanwhile, Victoran Tea Times are launching a new service 'A Jolly Jaunt for Afternoon Tea' which will allow guests to be collected from the Arklow area in a pony and carriage and then be brought to the tea rooms on the Main Street. The carriage can sit up to six people and advance booking through their website is essential.
