More Darts timetabled for Bray
No extra Greystones departures
With a new rail timetable introduced last Sunday, the frequency of Darts leaving Bray increased to every ten minutes.
Customers are advised to check timetables for full details of changes. In particular, some services have earlier departure times.
While the frequency has increased between Bray and Howth Junction, the Greystones departures will remain at every 30 minutes.
There have also been some changes to the Rosslare/Dublin route, with the 6 p.m. Rosslare to Dublin changed to 5.30 p.m.
On Sundays, the 10.25 a.m. from Dublin Connolly to Rosslare has changed to 9.45 a.m.
Cllr Derek Mitchell has proposed a plan to the NTA to allow more Dart services on the single track to Greystones.
'The National Transport Authority is interested in implementing this and has asked Jacobs Engineering to check it in detail and see if it is feasible,' said Cllr Mitchell.
'I met the investment director of the NTA and pointed out to him, on the Dart, how I think it can be done. The consultant was supposed to be there but his flight was cancelled. However he will be fully briefed by the NTA,' said Cllr Mitchell. 'I await the study results with interest as the NTA seem prepared to invest money if it is feasible.'
Cllr Mitchell said that the new service is planned to take an extra four minutes, 'for some unknown reason'.
He said that in the long term, if more trains are to be provided to Wicklow, the pinch point of Bray Head must be improved.
