Meadows wins European skincare medal
A Wicklow skincare company has received a bronze medal at a prestigious European skincare awards.
Meadows' Revitalising Face Serum won the award in the oils and oil-based serums category at the eighth annual FreeFrom Skincare Awards.
Claire Williams, owner and creator of Meadows, said: 'I was delighted to be shortlisted alongside Irish, UK and other European skincare brands. As a small business, the win is great.'
The skincare brand is a family-run business based at Barnadown Farm near Tinahely.
The winning revitalising face serum is made with rose, frankincense and palma rosa essential oils and blended by hand. The award judges praised the product saying it gave skin 'an instant glow'.
The FreeFrom Skincare Awards were founded in 2012 to encourage the manufacturers of skincare products that are 'free from' many of the allergens, chemicals, additives and fragrances that may be associated with skin sensitivities, allergies, and ethical, environmental and health concerns.
'I am utterly thrilled with winning this FreeFrom Skincare Award which is such a prestigious award in Europe. It is great to get recognition for how good our products are here at Meadows,' Claire added.
The award results were announced on July 30 following an extensive judging process which included a rigorous month-long assessment by four experienced skincare testers and a week-long expert judging session. There were over 300 entries to this year's competition.
