Two local Lions Clubs are joining forces to support important organisations in the community.

Sugarloaf and Bray Lions Clubs are organising a sponsored walk of the scenic cliff walk next weekend.

The event, which will take place on Sunday, June 26, will start at two different locations at 11 a.m., with walkers heading towards each other from their starting points

The fundraising event is being held to raise money for Marino Special School and Open Door.

Bray Lions will start their walk at the Boat House near the end of the seafront, while the Sugarloaf Lions will begin their walk from the Marina in Greystones.

Both groups will be starting at the same time and meeting each other en-route.

Members of both clubs met on Wednesday to promote the forthcoming event.

Marino is a special school in Bray with a community focus, offering educational placement to students in the low incidence disability category. Pupils range in age from three to 18 years.

Open Door Day Centre on Bray's Vevay Road provides facilities and activities including art, woodwork, ceramics, physiotherapy, computers and music for adults with physical disabilities.

Open Door also offers families and carers a much needed break.
