St Patrick's GAA Club and St Anthony's United FC in Kilcoole have teamed up for a joint fundraiser that could be the answer to the prayers of anyone struggling to find accommodation in the ongoing housing crisis.
The club's are jointly running the 'Win a Kool House' raffle in which up to 10,000 people will have the chance to win an A-rated three bedroom semi-detached house. The raffle will be open online from August 24 until March 30, 2019, tickets cost €105.
Thomas Messitt from the GAA club said: 'Both clubs need to move forward with their improvement of club facilities for the benefit of all members. The decision to have a joint effort was made as a large number of people young and old are affiliated to both clubs and as such the whole community will benefit from improved facilities'.
The house has been reserved by local developer Derek Burton and will be situated in a new estate in Kilcoole village once it is finished.
Jeffrey Doyle, Chairman of St Anthony's said: 'The house is currently under construction and is due to be completed in January 2019. Tickets will be sold online from August 24 and all details regarding the website will be released prior to that date. This is a major fundraiser for the clubs with a brilliant prize so we would love if people please support it and spread the word'.
The maximum number of tickets sold will be 10,000. The raffle is expected to attract plenty of attraction, not just locally in Kilcoole but also from further afield.
