Forged €50 notes in circulation

Gardai in Bray have warned retailers and members of the public to be vigilant as there appears to be fake €50 notes in circulation at the moment.

There were two incidents reported over the weekend to local gardai.

Retailers are urged to remember to 'look, tilt, feel', notes to assess them. The paper should be crisp and firm, with raised ink areas on the front.

There should be a watermark when held up to the light, as well as security thread down the centre. A holographic stripe or patch will change images and colours when tilted.
