Denzil makes airwaves on RTE
LOCAL RADIO presenter Denzil Lacey has scored his own radio show on 2FM. This is part of RTE 2FM's Late Night Sessions which are broadcast monthly on the national airwaves. His new show will feature an eclectic mix of music from the past few decades.
Denzil began his radio career at a young age and while still in school at Presentation College Bray. The very first station he worked for was Dublin special interest operator, 103.2 Dublin City FM (Previously known as Anna Livia FM).
During his time in the small Dublin station, he has presented and produced shows as well as being appointed head of IT at 103.2.
He then moved onto work for Dublin Radio Station, 98FM. This is where he worked on talk show, Late Night Talk for over two years, designing and maintaining their website as well as working on various projects.
After gaining even more experience, Denzil decided to set up his own online station. He did this in 2006, and called it 2006. The whole thing was run from his own studio, and broadcasted weekdays.
Denzil is Music Director and Presenter at a very popular online-based radio station, called The Mix Radio which broadcasts online to hundreds of listeners daily. Denzil's role is to schedule and control the music which is played on-air as well as working closely with the record companies to ensure the music is played.
His show is broadcast Monday and Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., online at www.themixradio.co.uk .
More recently, Denzil joined the team at East Coast FM, where he has worked in IT and production for the past year and a half.
