Car found burning in Bray linked to Lucan shooting
Two men seen fleeing vehicle at Fassaroe
Gardai investigating a shooting in Lucan last Wednesday (4th), are looking for witnesses to two men fleeing a burning car at Blind Lane in Fassaroe later the same day.
This was one of a series of three cars gardai believe were abandoned and burned by gunmen following the shooting.
The car fire was extinguished by members of Bray Fire Service at approximately 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday. There was a large police presence in the area as the incident unfolded. The car was a Toyota Avensis.
A shooting had occurred at Griffeen Glen Park in Lucan earlier. A 42-year-old man was shot a number of times and seriously injured at around 1.50 p.m. He was sitting in his car at the time of the shooting. The man was shot in the head, body and arms. The shooters had rammed his car before opening fire. The man managed to crawl out of the car and get to a nearby house.
He was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, where he is in a stable condition. Four people have since been arrested and released, with files to the DPP.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have noticed two males running from the car, or any other unusual activity, or any motorists with dash-cam footage, to come forward.
