Families from two Bray schools took on the challenge of a lifetime last weekend with their own Hell & Back and 'Fittest Family' challenges. It was St Patrick's Vs St Cronan's and a clash of the Titans in the Fittest Family challenge.

The Plunkett family were the winners, giving this year's victory to St Patrick's. It was the St Cronan's teachers though who took the 'Fittest Teachers' title.

In the Hell & Back Course, Bretta Ezeh was the first back for St Patrick's, with brothers Aaron and Ryan Egan taking first place for St Cronan's.

Teachers, parents, pupils, relatives and friends all got involved in the fundraising day.

The teams trained for weeks to prepare for the day.

Eight families from each school went head-to-head on the course.

The families had to work together to overcome all of the obstacles in their path. Set in Killruddery, the course combined lots of man-made obstacles, with Killruddery's famous natural terrain, for a unique and exhilarating family challenge.

A short one-kilometre course accommodated younger children, aged five to seven, with parents and family encouraged to join them as they faced the challenge.

The whole family, including older children, were able to take on the tougher 3.5km course.

It was a fantastic day for everyone involved, even those who found it tough!

This was the second day of the popular event, and many families are already looking forward to next year's event.
