Anniversary Mass for baby Alannah

A Mass was held last Friday evening in Bray's Holy Redeemer church in memory of Baby Alannah, organised by funeral director Mark Kinsella.

Mark arranges the ceremony each year, in memory of the baby girl whose remains were found at the Greenstar plant in Bray on May 4, 2016.

Staff at Greenstar were heartbroken to find the remains of the infant as they worked that morning. They later funded the headstone erected at her grave in Redford cemetery.

Gardaí named the child Alannah, meaning 'dearest child'. She was laid to rest in Greystones on the morning of Friday, May 13, 2016. The gardaí organised the ceremony presided over by Monsignor Enda Lloyd and Reverend Alan Breen. More than 100 people attended and many placed toys and flowers on her grave.

Despite appeals and investigations by gardaí, nobody has come forward since the sad news that the child had been found by the shocked workers. The baby's mother or any family member can still contact Superintendent Pat Ward at 01 6665300 or the garda confidential line on 1800 666 111.
