Village says farewell to Seán
The village of Kilmacanogue lost another of its famous sons last Thursday when Seán Devlin of Kilmurray Cottages passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his devoted family.
He will be remembered with love by his wife Peggy, sons Alan and Derek, sister Ann, brother Christy, grandsons Issac, Adam, Josh and Hugo, daughter-in-law Dee, Alan's partner Angela, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
His removal took place on Saturday morning when mourners walked from his home to St Mochonog's Church, Kilmacanogue, where a huge crowd gathered for Seán's funeral Mass which was followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
At the Mass, his grandchildren recalled just what a great and kind granddad he was, while friends spoke about the many happy times shared in work and on the golf course with Seán but his family was the important thing to Seán and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this sad time.
Farewell Seán, may you continue to hit the little white ball straight down the Fairways of Heaven.
