Two Marys back at Delgany Golf Club
The 16th annual golf charity event known as the 'Two Marys is taking place in Delgany Golf Club on Friday, July 6.
This event was set up by family and friends due to the tragic death of the 'Two Marys' namely, Mary Nolan and her daughter, Mary Bradshaw (aged 43). They both suffered from cancer and died within one week of each other.
Both ladies passed away in 2003. Their families have celebrated their lives each year since then, while raising money for a worthy cause.
The aim of this event is to raise as much funds as possible to help other cancer patients.
All the profits from the day of golf will go directly to Greystones and District Cancer Support.
Forty-seven teams (188 golfers) participated in last year's event and the net proceeds raised was €4,500. The fundraising target for this year is to increase the monies raised at last year's event.
The format for the golf is a shot-gun start at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The day will include evening entertainment and a raffle. To sign up or for information contact Jason Bradshaw at 086 8201442 or Martin Nolan at 087 919 1175.
