Sylvia Scanlon's annual charity sale day took place last Sunday in Byrne's pub in Kilcoole.

Sylvia and her team, including Ann Prendergast and Angie Prendergast, managed to raise a total of €977 for Greystones Resource Centre.

Sylvia thanked them wholeheartedly, as well as Byrne's. 'They have true community spirit,' she said.

There were ticket sellers, stall holders, volunteers, and everyone who came along. 'A big thanks to everyone for coming and supporting us. Your money will make a difference,' said Sylvia. 'Greystones Resource Centre is a great place.'

The day included a range of stalls selling gifts, decorations, crafts and more. There was also a raffle with 50 prizes, a 'guess the weight' competitions, and face-painting and other activities for children. Santa was there in the afternoon to remind the young people to behave in the run-up to Christmas. Children who saw him got a lollipop and reindeer food, and a photo with Santa himself.

The resource centre's mission is to encourage growth and development for families and the community.
