Pope Paul II Awards; Through the Pope John Paul II , young people will be enabled to take an active part in the life of their Church, in the life of their community and also become more aware of the reaching and role of the Catholic Church in the world.

This will enable young people to engage at a deep level with Christ, whose body the Church is. It will allow young people to understand that religion and faith is not just for learning, nor is it a list of rules, but that it is for living. Coffee Dock Volunteers: A number of new volunteers are needed to help out on weekday mornings. If you are available from 10am to around 12 Noon one morning every second week , we would like to hear from you. Please call Phillipa on 087-14422969.

World Day of Prayer 2014: Holy Redeemer will be hosting the Bray Service on Saturday March 8th at 11am in the Side Chapel. The Theme of the Service is ' Streams in the Desert '. All women and men are welcome.

Christian Meditation: Christian Meditation has resumed in Fr. Ben's house at 9.45am on a Thursday morning. Also there is meditation group in the Sacristy on a Tuesday evening at 7pm. Please contact Sr. Patricia in the parish hall for details.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament: This takes place every Friday from 10am to 1pm.

Novena to Anthony: This is said on Tuesday mornings during the 9.30am Mass.

Annual Mass for the Sick for the Bray and Enniskerry Pastoral Area: This will be celebrated in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Bray, on Sunday April 6th at 3pm.

Lourdes 2014: Our annual Lourdes Pilgrimage this year will take place from September 7th to September 12th , Price €707. Bookings can be made through the Parish Office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday mornings. Deposit of €50 when booking.

Novena of Grace: This will take place in our Church from March 4th to March 12th . Novena Prayers are said at the 10.30am daily Mass.

Table Quiz by Sugarloaf Lions Club: The Sugarloaf Lions Club will hold a Table Quiz in Greystones Rugby Club on Thursday February 28th at 8pm. Tables of 4 - €40. Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Conference of St. Vincent de Paul Society: The designated contact number for those in the parish seeking assistance is 086-256 7236


Queen of peace Adventure Youth Club has eleven leaders and seventy members as well as a group of associate members awaiting vacancies.

To keep the club programme running, and to involve the associate members more leaders are needed. The club organises in excess of ninety events during the year.

Bray Divers have enrolled six persons on a Snorkelling Guide course which will begin on Saturday 22nd. This is the first one to be run in the area.

Candidates who successfully pass the examination and testing at the end of the course will be awarded certification by the Irish Underwater Council. The qualification will have national and international recognition.


The anxiety and panic support group meet on Wednesday evenings in the Ballywaltrim Community Centre at 7.30 until 9.30pm. Bray Library hosts 2 Book Clubs: The Family Book Club ages 8 - 12 and parents meets on a Saturday at 2.45pm; The Adult Book Club meets on a Wednesday at 11am. Please ask the library staff for the next meeting date of each of these groups. Borrowers are reminded that books can be renewed by phone.

Last Tuesday night, Brian White, chairman of the Bray Cualann Historical Society, the local history society for Bray and North Wicklow, Society, was the guest for a special meeting of Bray Lions and their friends at which the Av presentation 'Bray Upside Down and Inside Out ', produced by the Bray Cualann Historical Society and the National Learning Centre, was formally launched and is now available for screening to local organisation - contact brayhistory@gmail.

Last Saturday morning Society Vice-Chairman & PRO James Scannell was the guest of the Greystones Archaeological and History Society in Greystones Library for the presentation by the Greystones Archaeological and Historical Society of a copy of ' Fred ', a biography of Col. Frederick Burnaby, to Greystones Libray to mark the Society's 25th anniversary. James read an account of the death of Col. Burnaby who was killed at the battle of Abu Klea in the Sudan on January 17th 1885.

Tomorrow night ( Thursday) the February meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society will take place at 8pm in the Bray Chamber of Commerce House, Bray, when Alan Carthy will present his lecture on ' TB in Ireland and Sanatoriums ' - all welcome, Admission €4.
