Nature events each month at the East Coast Reserve
A series of monthly themed family friendly events take place at Birdwatch Ireland's East Coast Nature Reserve in Newcastle up until the end of the year.
Each event will explore different parts of nature as part of Wicklow Heritage Office's 'Connecting People and Nature in Wicklow 2019' programme.
The first event took place on June 15 and featured the sounds, sights and sun-prints of the woodland.
The next event is due to take place on Sunday, July 14 when the theme will be nocturnal visitors, bats and moths.
On Sunday, August 11 the theme will be 'Discover the Reserve - Butterfly Walk and Seed Bomb Workshop'.
The themes for the remainder of the year are Sunday, September 8 'Spectacle of Migration - Swifts, Swallows and Martins'; Sunday, October 13 'Birds on Feeders - Garden Bird Workshop'; Sunday, November 17 'Winter Migrants - Waterfowl'; Sunday, December 15 'Festive Wildlife Walk and Wreath Making Workshop.'
