Enniskerry Library closing for repairs

Enniskerry library has closed temporarily for maintenance and repairs to the roof.

Wicklow Library Service are hopeful that the facility will re-open in early December. The roof of the library was already in need of attention, and storm Ophelia exacerbated this.

The building lost some slates during the hurricane and some guttering came down. The works will include repairs, as well as re-insulation of the entire roof.

There was no damage to books. The roofers examined the damage and discovered the leak.

Library books may be returned to any library nationwide and ordered books can be picked up at Bray Library.

Enniskerry Library had recently returned to four-day opening each week after being reduced to two days due to staff shortages.

The usual opening hours are 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
