Countdown for Christmas lights ceremony

THE Greystones Christmas Carols and lights ceremony will take place on November 24.

The event will be on Church Road from 4.30 p.m. It will include a visit by Santa, liturgical readings, carol singing and face painting as well as balloons and treats.


St. David's secondary school Christmas craft fair will take place on December 7 and 8.

Greystones Active Retirement will hold their monthly walk on Friday November 7.

Anyone wishing to take part can meet at the Holy Rosary Church car park at 10.30 a.m.


Greystones Camera Club's second annual exhibition will take place at Hillside Evangelical Hall on December 6, 7 and 8.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome to go along and view some fantastic photos taken by members.

Greystones Camera Club has a membership of 70 made up of male and female members of various ages and nationalities.

Charlesland Amateur Drama Group are staging their very first production 'Out of Sight... Out of Murder,' by Fred Carmichael on November 13 - 16 in Charlesland Golf Club. Directed by Caroline Hill the play is a comedy mystery where an author sits in an isolated house, trying to work out the plot of his latest thriller.

His career is on the slide and, to save it, he must come up with something special. An electrical storm approaches and his characters come to life.

But as he tries to work out the plot, he finds that these characters have minds of their own and mayhem ensues as the author struggles to regain control of his own creations.

Tickets are on sale in Charlesland Golf Club for €10.


Greystones Educate Together National School will host their craft fair at the school on Sunday November 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

After the massive success of last year's inaugural fair, this is sure to be an even more brilliant community event.

Vendors including local artists, artisans and craft people will make their way to Greystones with their wonderful handmade products.

There will be activities including a craft area, face painting and archery.

There's an Instant Raffle, treats, and much more.

Stalls will include local handcrafted toys, fine art, fashion, home décor, beauty products, accessories, jewellery, artisan food and a kid's craft area.

The fair will include a café serving up tea, coffee and home baking.


Siamsa Greystones are looking for entertainers who want a a platform to showcase their talents at our annual not-for-profit St Patrick's festival concert to be held on March 15.

They are looking for musicians, bands, singers and storytellers, of traditional Irish, contemporary Irish or new traditions.

The event will be a lively celebration of the best of broad culture in Ireland today.

They are also looking for enthusiastic people who would like to help orgnaise the long-running concert.

Greystones Tennis Club will host a Christmas Fair this year on the weekend of November 30 and December 1.

The fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Stalls are €25 for one day and €40 for two days.
