Vintage car lovers enjoyed a weekend of driving and showing off their prized possessions with the Original Garden of Ireland Run last Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend event included a run around the beautiful landscape of County Wicklow on Saturday, and a static show on Sunday.

Participants included members of organisers Bray Vintage Car Club, plenty of representatives of their fellow clubs from all over, and some individuals.

The winner of this year's John Nolan Memorial Car of Your Choice, as voted by the Saturday run participants, was Victor Foster's 1948 Austin 16.

This was the ninth year of the run with cars travelling from all over Ireland to take part. They set off on Saturday from the Woodenbridge Hotel in Avoca, getting admiring glances all over the county as they travelled around in convoy.

The vintage and classic car static show took place on Sunday afternoon at Coffee Delights in Bray. The day included music, a raffle, and plenty of fabulous vehicles from yesteryear.

All proceeds from the weekend will go to COPD Support Ireland, a charity that helps people with breathing difficulties. A local COPD support group meets every week in Bray. For more information go to copd.ie.
