Bray Bridge Club presented HomeLink with a cheque for €1,000 last Tuesday evening at the Esplanade Hotel.

This amount was raised at the club's open evening on December 27. The open evening was also held at the Esplanade and all proceeds were donated to HomeLink.

The Bray based charity enables older people to remain living in their own homes by providing telephone calls, home repairs, gardening and social events.

The club opened its doors to bridge players from far and wide as they mingled and mixed with festive cheer.

The popularity of the game and the excellent organisational skills of the committee were evident as a large group gathered and supported HomeLink's vital community services.

Anne Daly and Mairead Haugh, who organised the event, stated that their club are delighted to support a local charity which provides services to so many older people in our community.

If you know someone, who may feel isolated and lonely or could benefit from a friendly call, attending a social event or the installation of supports in the home such as grab rails, call (01) 2014473

Call also if you would like to make a donation or volunteer. Go to homelinkbray.ie for more information.
