Birthday boy Leo celebrates in style
Leo Greene was surrounded by family and friends at Butler and Barry for his 80th birthday. Leo is a long-standing resident of Killarney Park in Bray, and a native of Greystones. He is a keen golfer and great sporting man, having ran a boxing club in Bray for many years along with Al Morris.
His wife Joan, sons Karl and Seamus, daughters Jillian and Leonie, and grandchildren Lottie and Conor all helped him celebrate, as did a large number of friends and relatives. Leo was overwhelmed that so many made the effort to join him on the night. Jillian, Lottie, and Lottie's partner Hannah came over from England for the occasion. Some of Leo's nephews travelled from Scotland, a niece and nephew from Waterford, and of course all of his relatives from Greystones.
There were plenty of old friends there whom Leo used to work with. He worked hard all of his life at Beckton Dickson in Dun Laoghaire, on the machines putting ink on the syringes.
It has been a tough year for Leo and his family. He was very ill for his 79th birthday with heart trouble. They were all grateful to be able to share his 80th birthday after a challenging time. He is now in great health and well and truly back on his feet. One of the guests at the party was a new friend he met while they were both in hospital last year, so he was glad to be able to welcome him to Bray.
