Transition Year students from Loreto paid a visit to Open Door last week to hand over money they raised through a fundraising ball.

Orla Jackson, Melanie Walsh, Nicole McDonnell, Mairead Sheridan, Lilie Murray and Emily Sheridan raised a total of €1,054 by hosting the ball at the Royal Hotel with Pres.

They also held a raffle in their school, selling tickets for the chance to win great prizes.

The students presented the cheque to Open Door last thursday.

As part of their Eco UNESCO project, they also planted freesia and irises in the conservatory for the members to enjoy.

Suzanne Cox of Open Door thanked the young people very much. She said that their generous donation will go towards activities for adults with physical disabilities in north Wicklow and south Dublin.
