Sister Ann's Mission to Haiti
Another successful year of fundraising has been completed. Thanks to Louise, The Chair Yoga Group, Cora Jones from O'Domhaill Rua, Redcross, An Garda Síochána and a private donator. One couple also sponsored a child for one year in school. This year two houses will be built. Remaining funds will be used for schooling and other necessary needs.
Members - great exercise, join the Saturday morning strollers, lovely walks and great social gathering. Meet in the car park, Avoca at 11 a.m. We hope to see more members joining us.

Conary Parish Church
The Harvest Thanksgiving Service will be in St Bartholomew's Church, Conary on September 15 at 7.30 p.m. Music is by the Four Hims. All are very welcome.
Blessing of the graves
The Avoca Mass and Blessing of the Graves will be held on Sunday, September 15 at 2 p.m in the Kilmagig graveyard. All are wellcome to attend.
Preparations are progressing nicely for our 2nd Vintage day which will be held on Sunday 8th September in Coolgreany, with the event starting at 6.30 pm on Saturday evening with a Parade of Vintage Steam Engines and Tractors etc which will be led off by local piper Ray Finn, and then to the Coolgreany Inn with a great night of entertainment and music by John Rushe It was decided at a recent meeting, that the Club would support St Aidan's Day Care Centre Gorey, and some of our local Community Groups. An extra number of new events will be included this year, including Basket Making Exhibition, also Butter Making. The Vintage area will include Steam Engines, Vintage Tractors & Cars, Classical Cars, Threshing, Forging, Pet Farm, Dog Show, Bouncy Castle etc among a number of other events. A Great Family Day is promised, with music by Stacey Breen & also Hardy Bucks through the afternoon. Also included is a Monster Raffle with some very valuable prizes with tickets on sale at present. Come along for a great day of entertainment guaranteed.
The local Community extend their deepest sympathy to Rita Canavan on the death of her brother Andy whose burial took place in Tara Hill on Thursday 29th September.

Coolgreany Tidy Towns
The Keep Wexford Beautiful Competition is on at present and also the Housing Estates Competition. Our Committee are looking for all the help they can get together, and if any residents have a bit of spare time. Our chief gardener is out sick at present and we would all like to wish her a speedy recovery to full health immediately as she is sorely missed.
Adjudication of the Tidy Towns Competition is ongoing and the local Committee are appealing for the support of as many as possible to help with the cleaning up of all the roads around the village and in the village itself to help improve the area.
Arklow Golden Circle

work is progressing well in preparation of judging day on September 30. We are putting together a video to show the judges, so footage and interviews with local businesses are being gather along with aspects of our community groups. Thank you to all the sports clubs who gathered in the memorial park last Saturday.
Our next networking event is Tuesday, September 10, in Jacobs Well Hotel at 7 p.m. The event titled 'Regeneration of Rathdrum' will include guest speakers; Simon Wall, architect with Mayo County Council, Deborah Meghen, Coillte and John Webb O'Rourke, Zest Heath care. Parnell Athletics Club
Well done to rising star in the club, Will Phelan on taking fifth place in the under-8 80m final in the all-Ireland Community Games final. Congratulations also to Lacy Shannon.
Next up is the Cross Country Season - training every Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. in the rugby pitch - new members welcome.
And so we have come to the end of another successful walking season. Thirty participants attended our final walk for 2019 on the traditional Whaley Abbey circuit. Yet another fine evening greeted the walkers and all were treated to a final night cuppa at walks end before we went our seperate ways for the winter. A big thank you Ann Savage for hosting the walkers and to all who brought goodies to go with the cuppa.
The collection on the last night for a local charity has so far raised €330.A big thank to all who hosted a cuppa, did guest leader but most of all to everyone who turned out to walk.
We look forward to seeing you all again in April 2020 when we commence our 18th walking season.
