It has been a difficult year for the intermediate team so far. Relegation from the league and two heavy defeats in the first two championship games. So last Friday the match against Ballymanus gave us a chance to get our season going.
The first half was close. After 20 minutes we were just one point behind but Ballymanus finished off the first half well and went in 0-9 to 0-5 ahead. We had the aid of a slight breeze in the second half but it didn't help. Ballymanus dominated and eventually finished up 1-15 to 0-9 winners. This eliminates us from the championship and now we have a big challenge ahead. if we win our last two games we can avoid the relegation playoff.

Our adult footballers had a convincing win over Lacken/Kilbride last Saturday in Baltinglass in the Junior A championship. This was a welcome return to winning ways after a heavy defeat in the first round of this competition. Great credit must go to all the players and management team who have put in a huge effort since then to learn and improve from the first game and all their hard work was rewarded last Saturday. Well done to all. Many thanks to the Baltinglass club for providing us with an alternative set of jerseys at short notice due to a clash of colours on the day much appreciated.
