Great day for Scoil San Eoin's cycle event

The pupils of Scoil San Eoin got out and about on their bikes for a sponsored cycle last week.

As the annual Hallowe'en fundraiser, pupils, teachers and parents took part in a sponsored cycle on Thursday morning.

Everyone involved had a great day and a lot of fun. There were two routes, depending on the pupils' cycling ability. The short route was based in Cullen Park while the longer route was the 7k route around Ballykeane.

This cycle comes as pupils have completed two courses of the Cycle Right Programme which teaches road safety, how to maintain bicycles and develops children's confidence as cyclists and road users.

Scoil San Eoin has also nearly finished its Active School Flag application, and cycling is another example of how the pupils are increasing their activity.

The school thanked all members of the community who came together to take part and help out.
