'Stronger Men' day in Ballywaltrim on Saturday
On Saturday, December 1, BNYP Ballywaltrim will host a 'Stronger Men' day-long expo event, promoting well-being, physical activity and mental health, as well as live wrestling in the evening.
From 11 a.m. at Ballywaltrim Community Centre there will be free workshops and open discussions for the community, including a live podcast recording on mental health (11 a.m.), a nutrition workshop (12 midday), a weed workshop (2 p.m.) and a 'Little Things' themed lunch at 1. The two flagship workshops include a 'Suicide or Survive' talk in mental health and suicide prevention at 3 p.m.. This workshop is ideal for professionals working in the youth, education, community and care sectors. It is also suitable for parents and older teens but all under-18s must complete a parental consent form. Secondly, the 'Be Well' workshop at 5 p.m. is suitable for all ages.
The day will also include fun and free fitness-based activities including krav maga, boxercise, basketball, Lego walk, inflatables and more. Admission to the wrestling show is €7 with proceeds going the youth project's three charities of the year - Laura Lynn, the Irish Heart Foundation, and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
