Still Don't Make No Sense gig
'Still Don't Make No Sense: The Music of Stop Making Sense' will take place at Whale Theatre on Saturday, April 20, at 8pm.
The band Playback present the live re-enactment of Talking Heads' 'Stop Making Sense', complete with floor lamp and big suits.
They will blast through all sixteen of the songs from the film, including classics like 'Psycho Killer', 'Once in a Lifetime', 'Burning Down the House' and 'This Must Be the Place'.
Playback is an album tribute band made up of some of Dublin's finest singers and musicians. They have previously performed Bob Dylan's Blonde on Blonde and David Bowie's Aladdin Sane in full and have headlined shows at venues and events such as the Grand Social, Bello Bar and David Bowie Festival. They have expanded to an eight-piece for this show in order to do justice to the movie's backing vocals, synth solos and conga workouts.
Performers are Justin McCann on vocals and synth, Cathal Farrelly on vocals and guitar, Paula Size and Karen Williams on vocals, Alan Maguire on guitar, Gordon Dunning on bas, Mark Finlay on drum and Ronan Slater on percussion.
Tickets cost €16 or €14 concession and are available at whaletheatre.ie.
