Greystones Community First Responders held a fundraising table quiz recently at the local golf club.

The event was a great success, with a full house of teams pitting their wits against host and quizmaster Mike Morrissey.

The evening included a huge spread of raffle prizes, kindly donated by businesses and individuals in the area.

Residents of the area and members of neighbouring CFR groups attended. Greystones CFR gave a short presentation to explain the work that they do.

The voluntary organisation works in conjunction with the ambulance service to respond to incidents in the immediate vicinity.

They train regularly and operate around the clock on a rota-basis. They have installed defibrillators at a number of locations, including Donnybrook Fair, The Burnaby, Theatre Lane, The Beach House, Supervalu, Farrellys Butchers in Delgany, and the Carrig Orchard Pub in Killincarrit.
