Celtic Soul will pay tribute to Morrison

The seven-piece Belfast ensemble will deliver a tribute to Van Morrison at the Hot Spot Music Club in Greystones, on Friday, November 8.

Their sensitive and knowledgeable renditions of his classic hits and deeper album tracks receive critical acclaim from devout Van fans wherever they perform. The audience will hear the hits like Jackie Wilson Said, Days Like This, and of course Brown Eyed Girl. The band will also perform Ballerina, Cyprus Avenue, and In the Garden among many others in this show. Celtic Soul recreates the sounds that shaped a generation; this is more a band tribute to someone who combines poetry, mystical elements, deep personal feeling and an open soul into his works.

Several live 'unplugged' performances on Gerry Kelly's show on BBC Radio Ulster have boosted the band's following. BBC's Ralph McLean, a massive Van Morrison fan himself, describes Celtic Soul as 'a great band' and 'a very fine tribute'. With more years than they care to remember playing in blues, folk, trad and jazz bands these musicians have the ingredients to combine and deliver Van's music in an outstanding show.

Tickets are €16 to €18. Go to thehotspot.ie or call 087 2917519.
