Bray's Victorian bandstand is being fully refurbished
The bandstand at the promenade in Bray is being refurbished.
Works are expected to take six or seven weeks to complete and will include painting, installation of new lighting, and refurbishment of the ironwork.
The Victorian bandstand is used each summer for a range of performances and activities, including concerts, festivals, and a base for the annual Darkness into Light fundraising walk.
Most recently, the bandstand was used as a base for the start of the Operation Transformation walk last weekend.
The project was decided by members of Bray Municipal District as part of the allocation of public realm funding for last year, with an estimated cost of €60,000.
Prior to the works beginning, some loose guttering on the bandstand was secured by the council to ensure public safety.
