Knights hoping to build on a fantastic first year

While all eyes will be on Rob Kearney and the Irish team in Japan next month the young players of Carlingford Knights will be looking forward to a second full season that kicks off with training starting this Saturday at the Foy centre in Carlingford.

In what was a fantastic first year for the Knights, with the official launch with Dave and Rob Kearney and playing all over Leinster and Ulster, the fledgling club already has games lined up at home in September with Banbridge and Ardee.

The club welcomes all new players over the next two weekends with children welcome to come down and give the game a try without the need to register.

Meanwhile, as the junior rugby season starts the tag rugby season comes to a close and the Carlingford Knights tag team can certainly reflect on a great season.

They lost their Dundalk title to a fantastic Blue Sky team earlier this month, but before this they had probably their best ever achievement winning the Ulster Championship Cup in Early July coming first over a nine-week league against 28 teams in what was a fantastic achievement.
